Bende or small gong cymbal is a type that can be found in almost all islands of the archipelago, from Sumatra to the Moluccas and Papua. In the past, bende usually used to provide a marker to the community to gather in the square of the related information from the authorities, to accompany the arrival of the king or ruler to the area, or to mark the holding of party people. Currently, bende usually used to indicate the presence of a crowd like a monkey mask or other people's party.
